I took delivery of my Rapido 250 kit from Tony Daynes almost a year ago. I rode the kit through New York City and Northern Jersey at least three days out of the week and have traveled many long miles on the kit out of state on rides exceeding 300 miles. At leas two out of those three days consisted of all out and open throttle highway riding. Make no mistake, once the kit was fully broken in I REALLY beat the hell out of it. I have been dumb enough to race Porches and Corvettes off the line light to light in the middle of Brooklyn, I have kept up with crotch rockets going 75 miles per hour with still room on the throttle to go and I have had the displeasure of weaving in and out of stop and go traffic throughout NYC. Needless to say, after all of the torture I have put the kit through I NEVER once had a problem (feeling like it was going to seize) or issue or even a slight hiccup. The Bike could do 70 miles an hour at about 3/4 throttle and when I whack the throttle the bike has PLENTY more power and speed to over take cars and other bikes. I have even ridden with four other bikes, 3 of them bone stock (LIS150, LI150, Jet 200 LIS175 with a 175 conversion) in 100+ degree heat and had the only working bike half way home with everyone else experiencing problems. I have also ridden with other Imola, Rapido and TS1 kited bikes and have had the fewest problems of the three combined. All in all the kit is as sound as can be has been nothing less that a joy to ride; I just kick it over and go with no worries. I highly recommend the kit to anyone for either race or touring situations.

I have a 200cc rapido kit fitted which was slighty polished up by Ralph Saxelby and fitted with a bored out 22mm (24mm) Dellorto carb and a clubman pipe. The gearing is g.p.200 with a 19 tooth front sprocket. After only 180 miles running in, I rode down to I.O.W. and back (570m) at nearly full throttle with not one hint of seizing, doing speeds from 60-75mph (mainly 70). After 13 years with a T.S.1 it is quite enjoyable to ride.

Hi,
Just like to say that I bought a Rapido kit from you and I think its absolutely superb. Having had considerable problems with an old worn out tuned 200 barrel the Rapido gives superb and so far reliable performance. I'm using a 34mm Amal a Taffspeed exhaust and a GT gearbox and despite my not inconsiderable 18stone bulk it pulls superbly.
Yours a very satisfied customer

Just wanted to say well done for launching your Rapido kit. As an enthusiast & owner of both stock and TS1 Lammies I personally think this is the best thing to happen to Lambrettas since your TS1 kit. The design, pricing & ability to rebore make this very attractive for 200cc engine owners who find the TS1 conversion a bit daunting but want decent performance. Additionally as the requirement to perform frame modifications i.e. remove battery tray's etc. is gone combined with the ability to keep the scooter looking stock will attract a wider audience. Forget what the other dealers are saying, you guys had the balls to be innovative, put your money where your mouth is & get this performance product to market. Perhaps to stem the flow of comments & questions you could publish an online guide for the kit for tried & tested carb, exhaust & gearing configurations backed up by Dyno print outs. Keep up the good work.
Cheers
Martin
